In April 2007 St. Luke’s Hospital introduced the Vascular Access Center, a new outpatient department providing new options for vascular access-related services in the St. Louis area.

This innovative outpatient facility provides services to patients receiving hemodialysis, chemotherapy, apheresis and all types of home infusion therapy. The Center is the first of its kind in the area to offer dedicated full-service vascular access care. Dr. Thomas Vesely and Dr. Steven Bander are well known in the St. Louis metropolitan area and both have earned national distinction for their expertise in image-guided vascular access procedures. The physicians work with an experienced, professional staff to provide integrated, patient oriented care in a comfortable outpatient environment.

The services offered at the Vascular Access Center include:

• Pre-procedural evaluation to determine an optimal vascular access device
• Image-guided, minimally invasive procedures
• Pre-procedural and post-procedural patient education
• Diagnosis and repair of dysfunctional vascular access devices

The Vascular Access Center offers patients a unique experience including ease of access, convenience and a resource for continuing care.
